Story: The film moves around the events that happen in a picturesque village following the arrival of a young pastor.

Movie Review: In Amen, director Lijo Jose Pallisserry dabbles in a newly-found realm. He does the act joyfully with a tinge of absurdity and he derives laughter that sometimes wobbles on sheer madness. The good part is that the joy stays, warm and pleasant, all through the film.
1
Even with its ludicrous presence of a woman, who says yes when her son farts, Amen is lovable for the very manner in which Lijo mingles audacity with absurdity and churns out a fantasy with a flamboyant verve. Right from the opening scene, the film announces without a slight hint of hesitation, what it is up to. A kid discovers excrement wrapped in gold foil near his gate, and every time it passes hands, he squeals with a blissful https://piclinks.in/directlink?id=427821 impunity. Amen, a wonderful accomplishment, is set in a village where its inhabitants are always garbed in white - a motif which the film deftly employs to meld the elements of fantasy and spirituality.

A young, handsome cleric (Indrajith) arrives as the pastor of the church, whose senior priest is Father Abraham (Joy Mathew), a grumpy fellow. The village has a mix of issues, which range from the love between Solomon (Fahad) and Sosanna (Swati) to the fate of a band crushed by frequent failures in contests. The movie sets itself a lot of targets like the fate of Solomon’s love, his dazzling self-discovery of a trait not known to him before and some sober spiritual and religious conflicts. Amen promises a luxuriant plot replete with music, faith, fantasy and romance and an amazingly varied set of characters. There is Solomon, an otherwise timid youth, who would play his clarinet every night as Susanna, perched by the window side, would gaze down on him affectionately. Overwhelmed with emotions, a porky simpleton cries, farts and eats enormously. A rich drunkard sits still in the company of some clay-models by the river and then offers drink for each of them.

Though he fantasizes his narrative, Lijo sometimes throws surprises. A coconut falls on a bad-mouthed villager and no sooner than we assume it to be a divine act, the camera tilts upward to introduce a man atop the tree, who drops another one coconut on the same person. It’s as though the film draws its dynamism from the very sense of bafflement.

Indrajith and Fahad outsmart each other, as they melt themselves into their respective roles with authority. Abinandhan Ramanujam is tireless behind the camera, furnishing a canvas that is vibrant, experimental and glowing.

A meek Hobbit from the Shire and eight companions set out on a journey to destroy the powerful One Ring and save Middle-earth from the Dark Lord Sauron

The Lord Of The Rings Trilogy Review:

**The Lord of the Rings** by J.R.R. Tolkien is a seminal work in the fantasy genre, praised for its rich storytelling, detailed world-building, and deep themes. Here's a comprehensive review:

### Story and Plot
The narrative follows the epic journey of Frodo Baggins, a humble hobbit tasked with the monumental mission of destroying the One Ring, an object of immense power created by the Dark Lord Sauron to dominate Middle-earth. The story is divided into three volumes: *The Fellowship of the Ring*, *The Two Towers*, and *The Return of the King*. Each book advances the plot, introduces new characters, and explores different parts of Middle-earth.

### Characters
Tolkien's characters are diverse and well-developed. The central figures include:
- **Frodo Baggins**: The ring-bearer, whose journey from the Shire to Mount Doom is fraught with peril and moral challenges.
- **Samwise Gamgee**: Frodo's loyal companion, whose unwavering support and bravery are pivotal.
- **Gandalf**: The wise wizard guiding the Fellowship with his knowledge and power.
- **Aragorn**: The ranger with a secret royal lineage, showcasing themes of leadership and destiny.
- **Legolas** and **Gimli**: Their friendship bridges the gap between elves and dwarves.
- **Gollum**: A complex character torn between his desire for the ring and his remaining humanity.

### World-Building
Middle-earth is a meticulously crafted world with its own geography, languages, cultures, and history. Tolkien's attention to detail creates an immersive setting, from the tranquil Shire to the dark lands of Mordor. The extensive backstory provided in *The Silmarillion* and *The Hobbit* enriches the lore and adds depth to the world.

### Themes
The novel explores profound themes:
- **Good vs. Evil**: The struggle against Sauron embodies the classic battle between light and darkness.
- **Power and Corruption**: The One Ring symbolizes the corrupting influence of absolute power.
- **Friendship and Loyalty**: The bonds between characters are a source of strength and hope.
- **Courage and Sacrifice**: Many characters make significant sacrifices for the greater good.
- **Nature and Industrialization**: The contrast between the pastoral Shire and the mechanized, desolate Mordor reflects Tolkien's concerns about industrialization.

### Writing Style
Tolkien's writing is characterized by its archaic and poetic language, reflecting his background in philology. The prose can be dense, with extensive descriptions and a slow-paced narrative, but it contributes to the epic feel of the story. The use of songs, poems, and multiple languages adds layers to the storytelling.

### Impact and Legacy
**The Lord of the Rings** has had a profound impact on literature and popular culture. It set the standard for modern fantasy, influencing countless authors and works. The themes, characters, and world-building elements introduced by Tolkien are now staples of the genre. The series' adaptation into award-winning films by Peter Jackson brought it to a wider audience and cemented its place in popular culture.

### Conclusion
**The Lord of the Rings** is a monumental work that offers a rich and immersive reading experience. Its combination of a compelling narrative, deep themes, and a meticulously crafted world makes it a timeless classic. Whether you are a fan of fantasy or simply appreciate masterful storytelling, Tolkien's epic is a journey worth undertaking.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever

Story: With King T'Challa's death (Chadwick Boseman), Wakanda is deemed attainable by external forces that envy and fear its resources (metal Vibranium). Can Queen Ramonda (Angela Bassett) and daughter Shuri (Letitia Wright), defend their kingdom in the absence of its benevolent king — the mighty Black Panther?

Review: Revered on screen as Black Panther and much loved as a person and an actor, Chadwick Boseman’s death due to cancer in 2020 left a void in our hearts. The onset of a global pandemic at the time added to the emotional trauma and distress. Ryan Coogler’s second Black Panther movie draws that grief and brokenness from life and infuses it onto screen. The last Marvel film that was as emotionally charged and soul-stirring was perhaps Endgame. The sequel is a heart numbing, visually engrossing, spectacular blend of action and emotion. A special Marvel Studios logo dedicated to Chadwick sets the mood for the film, which is a poignant and spectacular tribute to the actor and the legacy of Black Panther.

Unlike MCU’s excessive obsession with comedy these days, Wakanda Forever evades Marvel stereotypes and tropes. Of course, there are some funny one-liners but they don’t dilute the gravity of the situation or its emotional conflict. Substance isn’t sacrificed for saleability and frivolous is not mistaken for fun. Along with dishing out some nail-biting action sequences, the film dares to delve deeper. It addresses healing, co-existence, humanity and conscience. Queen Ramonda, daughter Shuri and warrior leader Okoye (Danai Gurira) must conceal their sorrow and personal tragedies to protect and empower their kingdom. Their weaknesses are as brazen as their courage and they must find strength in the face of pain. Spirituality also lies at the core of this story.

While there’s not a single dull moment, you can feel the weight of the enormous length (2 hours, 44 minutes) in portions and an interval helps. An extremely significant post credit scene will bring a smile to your face so make sure you don’t miss that. All the women — Angela Bassett, Letitia Wright, Danai Gurira and Lupita Nyong'o are compelling in their crucial roles. Tenoch Huerta gets to play an accidental powerful nemesis. Music has always been a highlight of the Black Panther movies and it scores yet again, which includes Rihanna's ‘Lift Me Up’.

The writing is thoughtful and piercing. At one point a grieving Shuri is told, “The world has taken too much from you for you to be considered a child.” You are bound to get teary-eyed several times. To cut to the chase, Ryan Coogler delivers one of the best MCU films in a long time. Wakanda Forever!

BAD BOYS :Ride or Die

Synopsis: Miami PD’s best buddies-detectives Mike Lowrey (Will Smith) and Marcus Burnett (Martin Lawrence) must get to the bottom of a conspiracy that implicates someone they deeply respected. The duo’s still got speed, strength, and occasional insanity, even if age is no longer on their side.

Review: There was a time when buddy cop comedies were a thing. Films evolve and time flies but Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah show how the theme can still be relevant if made well. With true-crime, cerebral sci-fi, biopics and long drawn series occupying our screen time of late, a nonsensical but supremely entertaining action comedy feels like a welcome detox.

The fourth instalment in the Bad Boys franchise is a refreshing resurgence of the 90’s cult cop comedy genre. The film also marks Will Smith’s solid comeback as the likeable Will Smith we’ve always known before the controversial slapgate. This is he returning to top form, exuding that quintessential movie star energy and Smith brand of humour and humanity. The incredible Martin Lawrence not only complements Smith in his mad antics but ignites the madness and chemistry between the two. Only he could have pulled off the racial humour without making it offensive. Their near-perfect comic timing is a delight to watch and the bad jokes never get tiring. The story cleverly weaves fast action into the hilarious and heartfelt banter between the two warring friends, making this a light-hearted roller-coaster. The ageing heroes fight their high blood pressure and sugar along with the bad guys.

At no point does the film get soppy even as the story brings out the emotional side of these characters. Action scenes add to the thrill and excitement, and humour feels relevant, especially as it shows the 50-something lead detectives battling age-related issues. Refreshing to see actors owning their age on screen and characters, their physical limitations.

An ode to male friendship and brotherhood, Bad Boys: Ride or Die embodies Sex and the city’s most celebrated line from a male perspective. “Maybe our bros are our soulmates and wives are just people to have fun with?” This is by far one of the most entertaining films of the year. Watch it!

THE KILLER MOVIE REVIEW

Story: A mysterious and meticulous hitman misses a target for the first time in his career. When his girlfriend is brutally attacked, he reasons that his handler and client arranged the hit. The killer travels to different parts of the US, taking out everyone involved.

Review: Based on Alexis Nolent and Lucky Jacamon’s French graphic novel of the same name, director David Fincher serves an engrossing neo-noir experience that requires your complete attention to revel in its impressive nuances and layers. The movie sits strangely yet marvellously between a slow-burn and a high-octane actioner. And with that quality, it’s a subversive outing in this genre. The tonality here is mostly languid, but the narrative is loaded with stunning and sleek visual appeal.

What strikes one is how the treatment is in sync with the unnamed hitman’s (Michael Fassbender) psyche. His rituals are tediously repetitive, his moods are intense, and his worldview is bleak. But right when it starts to seem a bit heavy, he unleashes merciless and masterful action and assassinations. The actor delivers both with finesse that few who return after a four-year gap (after X-Men: Dark Phoenix) can manage. You can feel his ruthlessness when he says, “My process is purely logistical,” or “Empathy is weakness. Weakness is vulnerability,” yet he goes on a manhunt across the Dominican Republic, New Orleans, Miami, New York, and Chicago after his girlfriend Magdala’s (Sophie Charlotte) attackers.

Fassbender is joined by an able cast, including Charles Parnell as his handler and lawyer Hodges, Kelly O’Malley as Dolores, and Tilda Swinton as the Expert. The tense face-off between Fassbender and Swinton deserves mention.

It’s not every day that you encounter the story of an assassin, but one of the finest aspects of the movie is how it integrates daily foibles — from references to a co-working space to how easy it is to copy key fobs thanks to online shopping or consumerism in general. The film lacks the depth and finesse of Fincher’s other works, such as Fight Club and Se7en, nor is it a fast-paced thriller. However, the quiet confidence, impactful lines, dark philosophies such as ‘fate is a placebo,’ and Erik Messerschmidt’s cinematography will keep you enthralled. All this is enhanced by a soundtrack that includes Portished’s ‘Glory Box’ and The Smiths’ tracks.

Fincher’s craft is on display here as you may not find yourself on the edge of your seat, but your mind will be constantly engaged. This is one of those movies that won’t need you to power through the slowness, even though it does seem a bit odd intermittently.
